In the only game of the 19 where the Rangers allowed fewer than 30 shots on goal, they allowed 28. (Natural Stat Trick)
Alain Vigneault said that the Rangers are talking about their process and how they can reduce the shots against.
Adam Rotter: The basis of how the Rangers want to play is based upon getting to pucks quickly and them getting the puck up the ice for a quick transition. The main issue is that the Rangers can't get the puck and when they do, it's either turned over or sent down the ice for one shot before coming back down. If the Rangers can find some way to limit the amount of shots against, or at least keep it under 35 on a regular basis, they will give themselves a much better chance to win. If not, they better hope Henrik Lundqvist is near perfect and 1 or 2 goals bounce in for them.
