Jimmy Vesey has goals in two of his last three games and points in three of his last four.
He has 8 goals and 6 assists this season while averaging 13:43 per game.
Vigneault said that Vesey wants more ice time and that "someone" is going to get the minutes that Kreider usually gets.
At even strength this season, Kreider is averaging 12:42 per game and Vesey is averaging 12:11 per game.
Vesey ranks 8th on the Rangers in goals this season and has said that he has always been a goal scorer and that as long as he keeps shooting the puck the "law of averages will kick in." (NY Post)
He said that he tries not to overthink it when he is struggling and just wants to rely on his talent and "let it take over." (NY Post)
Vigneault had mentioned earlier in the season that he thought Vesey could be in the top-six.
Adam Rotter: Vesey had been playing well before the break and now there is a big opportunity in front of him that will hopefully help him take the next step, or two or three, in his development. He's been up and down in the first half but has started to look, again, like the player he was in the playoffs. He's been physical, forcing turnovers in the neutral zone and getting opportunities offensively. He will have an opportunity to step up for the Rangers and hopefully bring his game to a higher level.
