2/20/18 | 10:05PM: John Shannon tweets that five teams have expressed interest in McDonagh.
Elliotte Friedman writes that he isn't sure if Boston is willing to pay the price the Rangers want for McDonagh and that there is supposedly Western Conference interest in him as well. (Sportsnet)
7:30PM: Larry Brooks writes in the NY Post that Rangers GM Jeff Gorton has "no intention" of trading any of his potential "blue chip" properties for anything less than 125 cents on the dollar. (NY Post)
In regards to Ryan McDonagh, Brooks says that the Rangers will hold onto him past Monday's deadline if Tampa and Boston continue to "wall off their Grade A prospects." (NY Post)
John Shannon tweets that the Rangers are "open for business" and that everyone is available "except the King." (Shannon)
Adam Rotter: The only Rangers that have to go before Monday's deadline are Rick Nash, Michael Grabner and David Desharnais. They are the only three Rangers who are UFA at the end of the year and this is the last chance for the Rangers to get anything for them. Everyone else that has been talked about can be held until the draft and then possibly beyond. It's possible that the Rangers wait until after July 1 to deal some of these players, if they are dealt at all, when teams might have missed out on others and get a little desperate. This will be an ongoing process for the Rangers as they retool and it's certainly possible that they end up holding onto more than a few of those guys, especially if they bring in a new coach after the season.
