Corey Pronman ranks the Rangers farm system 29th out of 31 teams, saying that while they added talent during the 2017 draft those players were added to a shallow group that now "brings the system just a notch above awful." (ESPN Insider)
Pronman graded the Rangers 2017 Draft as a "B" and said that "for a very light farm system coming into the weekend, things changed for the better."
The Hockey News recently listed the Rangers top prospect as Lias Andersson and Igor Shesterkin.
The Rangers were ranked 29th by The Hockey News this past spring
Adam Rotter: The Rangers are in the process of rebuilding their farm system but they have a lot of youth and potential on their roster with Pavel Buchnevich (22), Brady Skjei (23), Mika Zibanejad, Kevin Hayes and JT Miller (all 24) and a really skilled prospect in Anthony DeAngelo (22). Beyond Lias Andersson and Filip Chytil the Rangers have signed and drafted some interesting prospects like Neal Pionk, Vinni Lettieri, Alexei Bereglazov as well Robin Kovacs, Malte Stromwall, Tim Gettinger and Sean Day. The Rangers have had a bunch of free agent prospects or late round players turn into NHLers and they have to hope that some of these guys will be able to do that while they look to add more talent to the organization.
