In the Rangers last three games, the top line of Chris Kreider, David Desharnais and Pavel Buchnevich have recorded 13 points. (NYR Game Notes)
- Kreider: 2 goals, 2 assists
- Desharnais: 1 goals, 4 assists
- Buchnevich: 2 goals, 2 assists
Desharnais has a three game point streak since returning to the lineup and joining that line while Mika Zibanejad has been out with a concussion.
When that trio has been together at 5 on 5 in the past three games the Rangers have had fewer than 50% of the shot attempts.
Adam Rotter: It's an opportunistic line that has converted since being put together but it's not the same without Zibanejad. Desharnais is putting up points and that is what the Rangers need from him, especially if they are going to have him in such a prominent role and with such prominent players. He's a depth player on this team but can swing up to play in an offensive role when needed. With uncertainty around Zibanejad as he goes through the concussion protocol, the longer Desharnais and this line can produce points the better it will be for the Rangers.
