11/22/17 | According to Igor Eronko, Russian forward Danis Zaripov said that he had an offer from the Rangers for when his suspension ended but that "the league" didn't allow him to sign the contract.
Zaripov said that Gary Bettman asked teams not to sign Zaripov until things were sorted out and that in his mind there was a 90% chance he would end up with the Rangers. (Sportbox)
He said that he nearly rented an apartment in NY and that everyone wanted to see him play, but that Alain Vigneault wasn't sure if his speed would match with the Rangers. (Sports.ru)
He said that despite Alain Vigneault being against the move, Zaripov had the "President of the club, the general manager and scouts" wanting to sign him. (Sntat.RU)
Zaripov is likely to sign with Ak Bars of the KHL.
