On MSG, Alain Vigneault said:
"I haven't said this very often about this group since I have been here, but this was a very bad game where we got out worked badly and we will need to respond here.
Henrik Lundqvist said after the game on MSG:
- On Kane's goal, "I don't know how much the game changed. They were hungry, came with a lot of speed and desperation in their game. A lot of times that will win you hockey games, they set the tone in the first ten minutes. They got some timely goals, we made some mistakes and it's my job to be there and clean it up and I wasn't able to do that."
- On looking in the mirror, "absolutely, I think it's important that you are honest with yourself and your performance. I don't think we gave up a lot. Obviously in a game like this I need to come up 1 or 2 big saves at the right time. There are a couple of plays they made right in front, they pretty much scored all of their goals right in front and I need to find a way to make the saves there and it might be a different game. I will quickly analyze this, we have another one tomorrow. I don't think we should get stuck with this one but understand what you need to do to prepare yourself to be at your highest level, it doesn't matter who you play, you need to be on your top level to win."
- On moving past tonight, "you don't have a choice. Everyone understands too that there are certain plays that happen that decide where it's going. We had some momentum and scored a goal and tried to come back and then they got on the PP in the third and killed that momentum. We should not over analyze things, we know what we have to do, playing tomorrow against a good team at home. Always a lot of energy in that building and a few corrections and we will be ready to battle tomorrow."
