JT Miller has spent this past season switching between center and wing and Alain Vigneault said that one of the things the Rangers like most about JT is his "versatility."
Vigneault noted that Miller played well at both ends of the ice while Mika Zibanejad was out but added that Miller prefers to play on the wing.
Miller was listed by a forward in the Central Division as one of the more underrated players in the league, saying "I was just watching one of their games, though, and I think he's come into his own this season. Solid player." (ESPN)
Miller has 5 goals and 7 assists in the past 22 games.
This season he is averaging 0.64 points per game compared to .68 points per game last season.
Miller had 12 goals and 18 assists in 42 games last season compared to 8 goals and 19 assists in 42 games this season.
Through 42 games this season Miller has 65 shots on goal and a shooting percentage of 12.3% compared to last season in 42 games when he had 73 shots and a shooting percentage of 16.4%.
Adam Rotter: The numbers are similar for Miller but, at least to me, it doesn't feel as if he is making as much of an impact this season. There were times last season where Miller was the Rangers best player, noticeable on every shift and driving the play. Like many of the Rangers forwards, they need more from Miller and for him to be that big player he looked last season like he might become. Miller is an RFA after the season and the Rangers need him to be a big part of their second half.
