McIlrath said that he was a little jittery in the first period but calmed down as the game moved on. John Tortorella agreed with that assessment.

Miller told the NY Post "the first period was OK, I was just trying not to mess up. The second was better, but the third was like night and day."

John Tortorella came away impressed with Miller "“You can see his strength, as far as his playmaking ability. For such a young guy, he’s got the big body, he’s got the big core. So, he’s going to be someone we’ll be watching, and I thought he was part of the best line we had tonight, the most consistent line.”

I thought last night was the best that I have seen Dylan McIlrath play. He is still far away from being an NHL player, but last night there were flashes of the player that the Rangers took with the 10th pick. Miller is just good. He always seems to adjust his game to whatever is going on and make himself better. That is quite a skill for a kid his age.
