Alain Vigneault spoke with the media on MSG following the Rangers loss to Tampa and said:
- On possible frustration only scoring 1 in the first, "if we did then we shouldn't have. We played the right way in the first period, advanced pucks, got pucks in their end, had good possession time and good opportunities which we didn't do in the second or third, we barely had any looks or possession time or getting pucks in deep. We didn't forecheck the right way, not winning board battles so the puck is automatically out of their end and there is a good chance that it's coming to yours. There is no doubt that our second and third were not good enough to get a win."
- Was it fatigue, "no. Look at our records on back to backs, fatigue is not an issue."
- Was it more what they did after the first, "gotta give them credit, they played a good game but the pace that we had carried in the first period, we should have been able to make the same plays in the second and third, which our guys didn't do and it obviously wasn't good enough."
