Alain Vigneault met with the media on MSG following the Rangers loss to the Isles and said:
- On the third, "in the second and the third, we gave up that early goal, down by two against a strong team like the Isles. We buckled down. Our guys worked extremely hard, maybe our execution isn't perfect but the work ethic and commitment to try and play the right way is there. I'm a firm believer that if you prepare and work hard, things will fall into place. We battled back again tonight, it's not the first time we have done that this year, we got one point but we battled hard."
- Was McDonagh hurt on that blocked shot at the end of OT, "no."
- On the early goals allowed, "it's a combo of us playing better with the puck, like we have mentioned a few times, and we are going to continue. It's challenging for our group, it's challenging mentally but our guys, I look at how they are getting ready and the attention to detail they are trying to do on the ice, how they battled back, I can only be supportive and the whole coaching staff is the same way and our players need to stick with it and if they stick with it the results are going to come."
- Is there a feeling that something will go wrong, "that is the challenge we face right now as a group, the only way to get those bounces is by continuing to play the right way, to work hard. That is what we are doing right now. In the third period we spent close to 10 minutes in the Islanders end. We gotta bottle that up and get ready for the next game and bring that against Nashville."
