Alain Vigneault met with the media in Chicago following the Rangers loss and said (NYR):
- On mistakes, "after playing a pretty solid first period, we didn't give them anything 5 on 5, they got a couple of looks on the PP, but in the second period our decision making coming into the zone, our execution wasn't very good and it led to transactions and counters from them and they got some good chances in the second, Hank kept us in and in the third we paid for the mistakes that we made."
- On pulling Hank, "we weren't defending well, I wanted to throw Pavs in there to see if it would change anything, and it did, but we had one line going tonight, that's all we had."
- On pulling Hank, "he give us chances, in the second period he had a number of Grade A chances and made some saves and gave us a chance. Tried to change the momentum in the third."
- Did it you remind you of earlier in the year, "we didn't play well enough, obviously in the second and third. We got what we deserved tonight, we didn't deserve to win and we didn't."
