Alain Vigneault spoke with the media on Sunday prior to tonight's game against the Flyers and said (NYR):
- On Grabner, "he's, for me anyway, he is playing well. He is getting all the looks he was getting earlier on, same type of looks, he's just right now having a harder time finishing on those. The looks are there, the swagger that he had at the beginning, once he gets one, because of the quality of the looks that he's had, he will be fine. He's just, you can't score on the pace he was on otherwise he would be an 80 goal scorer, things even out but the looks are still there, the speed is still backing off the opposition and scaring a lot of defenseman and it will be a big help for us moving forward."
- On Skjei, "I though he played alright, Brady for me, and I've said this many times, he is the new type of D that is needed in the NHL, he can skate well, beat the forecheck, can carry the puck, move the puck and can defend. He has all of those elements. It's his first year, even though he is a rookie I don't consider him a rookie, he plays big minutes and helps us on the PP and will be a real good player for us moving forward."
- "That all depends on how you are playing but also how some of the other guys are playing. There is huge upside there and the minutes he's playing now are important and good, reasonable expectation is that it might be more in the playoffs."
