The Rangers have announced that Vinni Lettieri has been sent to Hartford while the Rangers are on their bye week.
The Wolf Pack have games on Wednesday and Friday before the Rangers return on Saturday.
Lettieri,22, played in both games for the Rangers this weekend:
- Arizona: 14:22, 3 shots on goal, 2 shots that missed the net, 4 hits, 1 giveaway
- Vegas: assist, plus one, 2 shots on goal, 1 shot attempt blocked, 1 shot attempt that missed the net and 1 hit, with 1:27 on the PP.
From the Rangers, "Lettieri is the first Ranger who has registered his first career NHL goal and his first career NHL assist within his first three career NHL games since Carl Hagelin during the 2011-12 season."
In three games this season, Lettieri has 8 shots on goal, 15 shot attempts, 5 hits and an average ice time of 12:51.
Alain Vigneault said last week that the Rangers would decide on what to do with Lettieri following their weekend games.
Adam Rotter: I liked how Lettieri played over the weekend, though I was surprised he was in the lineup ahead of Pavel Buchnevich on Sunday. As predicted, Lettieri likes to shoot and had a couple of chances in the back to back. He's being sent down to play and practice in Hartford this week and then the Rangers will decide what to do when they come off the bye. My guess is that Lettieri spends the next 10 days or so in Hartford, pending injuries, but will get called up and join the team before they go out West in the week before the All-Star break.
