Alain Vigneault met with the media following the Rangers loss to Vancouver and said (NYR):
- On the game, "At the end of the day a win is a win but we caught that team with their goaltending a little off, we were able to get out to a quick 3-0 lead. It went back and forth. In the third I thought we were playing pretty good, not just hanging on but making some plays and I would have to say, in my opinion, two questionable calls put us 5 on 4 and then 5 on 3. They got quite a few looks and Hank made some big saves. We missed an assignment on the 6 on 5 at the end, they tied it up and we are able to score in OT."
- On John Gilmour, "it's 3 on 3, you expect everyone that steps on the ice to do something. Gilly has good speed and skating ability and came up at the right time. Ryan made a nice pass right through the blue paint, the goalie didn't handle it and Gilly found a way to put it in the back of the net."
- On Namestnikov, "he had some real good looks, made some good plays with the puck and that is what we expected from him. Skilled player and he has to show his skill."
