Henrik Lundqvist was asked on Saturday morning about the rumors that the Rangers might be sellers at the deadline.
Lundqvist said, "this time of year there is going to be a lot of speculation and rumors. I think that has been the case every year. You can't put too much thinking into it, you gotta stay focused on what you as a player have to do moving forward. Obviously with the last month and a half we have had, we haven't won as much as we wanted to. Speculation is going to maybe be a bit more this year, but you can't get sucked into too much. When I come back next week it's all about getting ready for the second half and my focus is strictly on the ice and what I can do to prepare myself. We will see what happens." (NYR)
On Ryan McDonagh, Lundqvist said "he's been a big part of our team for many years, the way he plays the game. He is extremely skilled the way he skates and moves the puck. He is a good leader in the room. he is a big piece, that is for sure. (NYR)
On the team overall, Lundqvist said "for us as a group in New York, this break might have come at a good time for us to regroup and get ready for the second half." (NYR)
