It was announced last week that Ryan McDonagh would miss the games against Carolina, Detroit and Vancouver with a plan to be re-evalauted yesterday.
Following yesterday's game, Alain Vigneault said that due to the game being played early in the day he hadn't checked in with the medical staff to see if they had looked at McDonagh.
McDonagh has been dealing with a lingering abdominal strain for part of the season.
The Rangers schedule for this week hat s them OFF today, hosting Florida tomorrow, TBD for Wednesday, practice on Thursday and then hosting Carolina on Friday.
Adam Rotter: McDonagh will almost certainly miss tomorrow's game but Friday's game is possible depending on if McDonagh skates on his own for a day or two and then practices on Thursday. Following the Carolina game though they have practice on Saturday, are OFF on Sunday and will likely practice next Monday (12/4) before returning to play Pittsburgh on 12/5.
I'm sure McDonagh wants to get back in as quickly as possible but with things going well for the Rangers during his current three game absence, it might make sense to ease him back in with a weeks work of skating and practice before returning against Pittsburgh. The schedule is pretty spread out for right now before it starts to bunch up a bit more on 12/8, so the Rangers should use all of this time to their advantage to make sure that when McDonagh returns he is 100%.
