11/16 | 7:07AM: Henrik Lundqvist spoke after the game in Chicago and said (NYR):
- "the way we started the third, it was not a fun feeling to be out there. The things we did so well in the first two periods were not there in the first 10 of the third and that was the game. They got to loose pucks and rebounds and we did that really well for two periods but they went up with their mindset in the third and we weren't really ready. If you look at the goals, it's in front, like I said, that is something we have been doing pretty good on this winning streak, trying to keep it tight and make plays in front and when you don't good players can make you pay."
- "we played pretty good for two periods, they had a lot of chances in the second period, but in the third, it was all little plays in front of the net and I was not able to come up with the saves and it was a 10 minute stretch where we lost the game. We have to learn from it, I made that mistake on their first goal, I was moving and couldn't really close that hole and in the third we have a really bad 10 minute stretch and it cost us. Playing against a really good team too, they create a lot and had good speed but their determination in the third, they were on a mission and we couldn't really respond in the first 10."
- On the next game, "we are not even 20 games in, you have to approach every game the save way. You want to make the most of it and try to win. We are not in a great spot, I don't even know if we are in the playoff position, you have to prepare the best way possible and obvious you gain confidence from winning but you should have the same mindset for 6 in a row or 0-1. It won't change, we go to the next game, try to play the best possible and help the team win."
- On the first goal, "I was moving and picked it up a little late, it was not a great feeling and I was hoping for a whistle and when I didn't hear the whistle I knew I was in trouble. That was that."
