7/9/18 | On Rangers Night Live, Marty told John Giannone about coaching, "It's something I see myself trying and liking, timing is everything. Right now I'm focusing on my kids and this is time you can't get back and it's been a blast. I'm gonna keep doing that for now and take it a year at a time."

5/17/18 | Marty St. Louis was on the 31 Thoughts Podcast this week and was asked about the rumors mentioning he could return to pro hockey as a coach. (Sportsnet)

St. Louis said, "I'm definitely interested, there will be a time and a place for that, hopefully it won't be too late for me. Right now it would take a lot for me to leave my kids. I'm enjoying seeing their development and being part of their everyday life." (Sportsnet)

He added, "I'm like coach, dad, driver, trainer, I wear many hats right now but...I love hockey, have always loved it and it my last 5-6-7 years I played but I felt like I tried to help the young guys, not being a coach to them but really talking hockey and certain situations and why to think a certain way and try to help with their reads and what to look for. I enjoy that, I enjoy that part of the game. I think I see myself more in the trenches than a guy on top but I know I'm going to be around hockey at some point, in what capacity I am not sure yet. Right now my kids are the priority." (Sportsnet)

St. Louis has been coaching his sons and said that when he meets with parents at the start of the year he explains that he is "demanding but fair." (Sportsnet)

It has been wondered, since the end of the season, if St. Louis would re-join the Rangers as part of the new coaches staff.
