Fast was named the Rangers Players' Player award winner this year, given to the player who, as selected by his teammates, "best exemplifies what it means to be a team player."
He had 10 goals and 20 assists for the Rangers this season while averaging 14:56 per game.
In the playoffs Fast had 19 hits in the Rangers five games, had an assist and averaged 14:02 per game.
Fast has a cap hit of $950,000 this coming season.
Fellow Swede Oscar Lindberg underwent surgery in early May and is expected to miss the start of the season.
