Vigneault said that both the Rangers pro scouts and assistant coach Lindy Ruff, who coached Cracknell in Dallas last season, thought that he could add depth to the roster.
He said that Ruff said 'a lot of great things" about Cracknell and "we will give him an opportunity to show what he can do."
Cracknell said that he is excited for the opportunity with the Rangers and that he needs to "build up trust" with the team and "make sure they made the right decision." (NYR)
Asked what kind of game he plays, Cracknell said that he is a "simple" player that likes to get in on the forecheck and go to the front of the net. (NYR)
