NYCFC won for the first-time ever at Red Bull Arena in a 2-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls in the first edition of the Hudson River Derby of 2017.
Jack Harrison scored his seventh goal of the season to put NYCFC on the board in the 33rd minute. That goal turned out to be the game-winner as the Red Bulls was only able to put one shot on target even though the Red Bulls dominated possession.
Ben Sweat added a goal in the 66th minute to pick up his first goal of the year.
The win puts NYCFC in third place in the Eastern Conference while the Red Bulls remain in fifth place in the East.
The Red Bulls take on the Philadelphia Union at Red Bull Arena on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
