Rex Hogan

The Jets have hired Rex Hogan as their new senior director of college scouting, the team announced on Thursday.

New GM?Mike Maccagnan recently fired Terry Bradway (senior director of college scouting) and Jeff Bauer (director of college scouting).

Hogan had been a national scout for Chicago since 2012. Before that, he was a college scout for the Bears since 2003. He got his start as University of Utah's director of football operations, with a brief stint in 2003. From 2000-03, he worked in recruiting and operations for Notre Dame.

The Jets want to hire the Bears' Rex Hogan as director of college scouting (Mehta, Jan. 20).

Hogan, 42, has been a college scout for the Bears since 2003. He was promoted to national scout two years ago.

Hogan, who was a punter at Austin Peay (Tenn.), worked with Notre Dame's football recruiting and operations from 2000-03 after three years as an auditor at Ford Motor Company. He was the director of football operations for the University of Utah in 2003, under coach Urban Meyer, before leaving for the Bears.
