Four minutes and 12 seconds is all it took, as the Islanders watched Monday's matinee game unravel in front of their eyes.

After an Anders Lee goal made it 2-1 early in the second period, the Islanders looked to be the controlling team everyone has seen for the past two games. But a burst from the Wild turned into a forecheck from hell for the Isles.

Three goals were tallied on the scoreboard in that 4:12 span, and it was the decisive push Minnesota needed to snap the Isles' small two-game win streak...

Jaroslav Halak will start in goal for the Islanders when they play the Panthers at home tonight at 7 p.m., head coach Doug Weight said.

Casey Cizikas will also see his return to the Isles' lineup tonight after missing about two weeks with a hand injury. He was placed on the IR on Jan. 13, and didn't have a timetable for his return.

"Casey will play the wing with Nelly [Brock Nelson] and either Fritzy [Tanner Fritz] or [Alan] Quine," head coach Doug Weight said. "We're excited to get him back. He's got a big engine and brings a lot of energy and he's a heck of a hockey player. Great to get him back. He's feeling really good and really confident."

The Islanders announced they have recalled C Tanner Fritz and LW Ross Johnston from loan on Monday.

Fritz, 26, has played in eight games with the Isles this season, making his debut on Jan. 15 against the Canadiens. He last played against the Las Vegas Golden Knights before being sent back down to Bridgeport.

Though he hasn't recorded a point with the Isles this season, he does have 37 points (10 goals, 27 assists) in 33 games with the Sound Tigers this season.

The NHL celebrates their best talent from the 2017-18 season this weekend as everyone gets together in Tampa and puts their best foot forward for the fans.

For the New York Islanders, John Tavares and Josh Bailey are enjoying themselves, with Bailey's 17-month old son joining him for this unforgettable memory that will last a lifetime. For the team, they currently sit outside of the playoff picture, one-point behind the Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils for one of the two wild-card positions. Three points ahead of the next team in the chase: Carolina Hurricanes.
