The New Jersey Devils have suspended forward Rostislav Olesz and placed him on unconditional waivers. ?His contact will be terminated once he goes unclaimed on Thursday.

Olesz has already left for Europe to go play overseas. ?The suspension was simply procedural for being absent from the Albany squad before the Devils placed him on waivers.

In 10 games with the big club, Olesz posted two assists and a minus-one rating.

Update - 1:42 p.m.: Olesz has been assigned to Albany (Gulitti).The former seventh-overall pick in the 2004 draft has just two assists for the Devils in 10 games this season.
