Amir Garrett is still considering Oregon and St. John's as his top two schools, but said he may wait until the spring to sign.

"Yes," the 6-foot-7 Garrett said Tuesday night by phone. "I'm not sure yet. I don't think I'm going to sign in November. Not too soon. I'm not too sure yet."

Said Findlay Prep assistant coach Todd Simon: "Amir's going to be thorough and he'll know when it feels right. He's improving on the court by the day."

Like most people who tuned in to the Le Moyne-Syracuse exhibition game Monday night on SNY, I figured I'd be watching a 20- or 30-point Orange blowout.

Le Moyne College?

Never heard of it. Turns out it's a Division 2 school also in Syracuse.

**The Lance Stephenson Saga looks like it will drag out for a while since the sexual assault case has been adjourned to June 29. Attorneys for both Stephenson and Darwin "Buddha" Ellis said they were trying to get the case dismissed, but there is nothing new as of Wednesday.

Arizona and Memphis appear to be the primary players for Stephenson, although we have heard Maryland's name tossed around a bit. Stephenson has repeatedly said he won't go to Europe and Sonny Vaccaro has advised him against going that route.

NEW YORK - Jamie Dixon says change is coming to the Big East next year.

While Louisville, Pitt and UConn dominated the conference a year ago -- going a combined 46-8 --? Dixon says a new group of teams could move up this year.

"Cincinnati, St. John's, Seton Hall," Dixon said Wednesday at a coaches clinic at Madison Square Garden. "Those are going to be more experienced teams. There are some very experienced teams and it's not the teams that were at the top of the conference last year."

John Wall is down to two schools -- Kentucky and Miami -- according to multiple sources close to the situation.

"It's down to the two of them, no question about it," one source said. "It is Kentucky and Miami. The kid is leaning toward Kentucky. There is a little bit of a concern with the people closest to him that if he goes to Kentucky that they're going to lose control."

Said a second source at one of the schools: "That's what we're hearing."

PHILADELPHIA -- The basketball skipped off Reggie Redding near the UCLA basket, and Corey Fisher alertly grabbed it about 10 feet from the rim.

Fisher drove the baseline hard, elevated his 6-foot-1 frame over 6-foot-9 UCLA forward Nikola Dragovic and floated the basketball off the glass for two points. He then added a foul shot for a commanding 22-point, second-half lead.

The athletic, highlight-reel play drew a wild ovation from the home fans at the Wachovia Center, who seemed a bit stunned at the ease with which No. 3 Villanova handled No. 6 UCLA 89-69 in a second-round NCAA Tournament game at the Wachovia Center.
