Relegated to the back page and beyond on most days in the New York/New Jersey area, for one day in January, hockey was king.

The sights were incredible. Gazing upon Yankee Stadium decked out in NHL logos was quite a sight. There was a buzz even before you entered the stadium. With media crews working to get fan interviews and photos, it was clear that this event was so, so much more than just a regular game.

The Atmosphere

That's what the hockey uniform gurus at Icethetics seem to think of the color jersey the Islanders will be wearing when they face off against the Rangers at Yankee Stadium on January 29th. The NHL released the chrome logos that all the teams will be wearing at their respective Stadium Series games this winter and those logos have since been released on different shirts that are up for sale. The picture to your right is of the Islanders' Stadium Series t-shirt. It features the new logo just released that will be used for the special outdoor game (picture via @ayojess).Icethetics seems to think that the color of shirts for each team will match the color of that team's jerseys. For the Rangers, Icethetics cites a source that says tells the blog the Rangers jersey will be white and the t-shirts that have shown up on eBay are white. That all makes sense especially because the Rangers are the "away" team against both the Isles and Devils, and the road team always wears white in the NHL.For the Islanders, that likely means they will have a non-white jersey and not only that but Icethetics believes it will likely be a blue jersey, not an orange or black one (thank goodness):[sny-box]This blue?NEW YORK ISLANDERS?tee seems to confirm the idea that the shirts match the jersey colors. But look closely and you'll see this chrome Isles logo doesn't quite match the?one released last week. The one on the shirt has rounded corners and an angled corner at the top of the Y.To sum up, these are the colors and logos that will be representing these teams in January.[/sny-box]So it isn't official, but it seems likely that the Islanders jersey will be blue on January 29th at Yankee Stadium.

Earlier today the Islanders released the team's logo for the Stadium Series game at Yankee Stadium on January 29th. It was a chrome 'NY', just like the other Stadium Series logos have been chromed-out for their respective teams. The press release noted that Islanders season subscribers would be able to buy the full jersey before it goes on sale to the general public. There's just one catch: they won't know what the jersey looks like before they buy it. Here's a snippet on how season subscribers will be able to purchase the jersey:The image above says please complete your order form by November 29th, with the jersey to be "revealed in mid-December."(Image via @MetsBro on Twitter)

In what can only be described as a tumultuous off-season for the Devils, there was a much welcomed positive moment on Thursday from Yankee Stadium. Bryce Salvador and Andy Greene were on hand at the ballpark for the announcement of the upcoming 2014 NHL Stadium Series games to be played at the iconic Bronx venue.

Both players are excited to be playing in the first outdoor game in Devils history, as it adds yet another great chapter to the Devils-Rangers rivalry.
