Sports Illustrated recently released their list of the Top 10 Super Bowl games, and the Giants appear twice on the list. ?Their upset win over the undefeated Patriots in XLII was voted No. 1 and the 20-19 victory over Buffalo in XXV was voted No. 8. (See list/slideshow)
From an objective standpoint, this list is fairly accurate. I agree with the selections for the most part. For Giant fans, XLII is not their greatest moment, at least in my mind.
Tyree only managed to play another year after his moment in the spotlight. In fact, that was his last reception as a pro. Since then, he's faded into the background.
But now, thanks to this year's rematch between the Giants and the Patriots, he's more relevant than ever.
For our friends at .thomson.co.uk....the highlight of the NFL year is just around the corner, and with last year?s winners, the Green Bay Packers, out of the running, things are looking very interesting for the big game.
Whether you?re an expert or not, our interactive infographic will give you a rapid overview of the past 45 years of the Super Bowl. The graph at the top allows you to quickly see the story of each game quicker than anything else you?ll find online.
The Giants "Catch 42" Super Bowl win does not seem so far off in the past but in an NFL lifetime. Four years makes a world of difference who a football teams is and once was.
Since 2007, the New York Giants and The New England Patriots have grown older and more experienced with their franchise quarterbacks still leading the way.
I disagree. Manning is still in his prime and has the talent to take the Giants back to the Super Bowl. (And yes, I realize the same can be said for plenty of other players and teams around the league.)?Burress, I believe, will have a big year for the Jets (assuming he's healthy), and who knows where that will lead.
"He was a Charger for 45 minutes," Smith said "and that was too much time to be a Charger, in my opinion."
Smith was of course referring to Manning's openness about not playing for San Diego, a mindset that was said to have come from Eli's famous father and brother.
For without them, there would be no America, no us. Americans are known for their resilience and passion. Nowhere in American life is that depicted more than on the gridiron.
With all this lockout talk and angst over whether there will be a regular football season this year, we bring you a short video to remind you what the NFL is all about.
Highlighted by an improbable catch by WR David Tyree and a relentless pass rush, the Giants - who were 12 point underdogs vs the undefeated Patriots - shocked the football world by topping Bill Belichick's crew, 17-14, in Super Bowl XLII.
When leaving the field, MVP Eli Manning was as excited as Eli could get.
David Tyree had a strong inkling his NFL career might be over. On Friday, he'll make it official.
With the team he said has given him his "greatest memories."
Today's video is anything but.? Giants fans of all ages will eat this first selection up with a fork and spoon.
Here is a ten minute clip from NFL Films' America's Game series.
Myself and Dr. Bill Chachkes (aka Dr. Football) sat down with Super Bowl XLII hero David Tyree, who is currently a man without a team after his contract with the Baltimore Ravens expired earlier this year.
Q: What are you up to these days?? It appears that you are in shape and ready to play. Have you been talking to teams?

Among them is a play where linebacker Antonio Pierce, who calls the defensive plays, would wave his arms up and down to tell the defense to just line up and rush, basically a free for all, but while staying free of the ends.
The play was employed with 25 seconds left in the game, with the Giants having just scored the go-ahead touchdown, and Tom Brady was attempting to stage a last change drive of his own. Left tackle Jay Alfred took an inside route vacated by the center and caught a free lane to Brady.
Any fans who attend can receive a tour of the New Meadowlands for $10, with all proceeds donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The fair will open at 2 p.m. and closes at 2 a.m.
