Kelly Faris entered Wednesday's action leading the Big East in field-goal percentage (72.7).
The UConn senior guard was even better in the first half against Colgate at the XL Center in Hartford. Faris has 15 points as she hit four of her five shots from the floor, including all three from 3-point land, as the second-ranked Huskies took a 49-22 lead over the Red Raiders at halftime.
Faris, who was tied with South Florida's Andrea Smith as the top 3-point shooter in the league, also registered her first career four-point play.
UConn, which has trailed in a game since giving up the first basket of the season to College of Charleston on Nov. 11, scored the first 12 points against Colgate. Two baskets by Stefanie Dolson got it started and Faris followed with her four-point play. Hoops by Breanna Stewart and Dolson capped the run.
Dolson has added 14 points while Brianna Banks also has 14 off the bench. UConn coach Geno Auriemma used nine of his 10 healthy players by the eight-minute mark.
