UConn's DeAndre Daniels scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Huskies shot 52 percent in a Sweet 16 win over Iowa State at MSG.
Daniels scored 19 in the second half and the Huskies built as big as a 16 point lead before it was cut to four-points late.
The Cyclones rallied late, pulling within 67-63 with 2:30 minutes remaining. But senior Niels Giffey hit a 3 in the corner and when the Huskies made their free throws. UConn shot 20 of 22 from the line and hit 15 of 16 late in the game.
Dustin Hogue scored a career-high 34 points for Iowa State. Big 12 player of the year Melvin Ejim was 3 of 13 for seven points.
UConn will play either MIchigan State or Virginia on Sunday.
It's the 11th Elite 8 appearance for the Huskies, and first since the national championship season of 2011. UConn is 4-6 in Elite 8 games all-time.
