The University of Connecticut women's basketball team has made the White House in Washington D.C., a second home over the last 20 years.
The Huskies will be welcomed to the White House by President Obama on Tuesday as they are honored for winning the 2015 national championship. This visit will also continue the tradition begun by President Obama of honoring sports teams for their efforts to give back to their communities.
The ceremony Tuesday will begin at noon. It will be the ninth visit to the White House for the 10-time national champions (the 2000 team did not make the trip due to scheduling conflicts). It will also be the fifth time they've been honored by President Obama since he took office in 2009.
