He's been alluding to it for weeks, but it's now official.
UConn G James Bouknight won't be declaring for the 2020 NBA Draft, and will return to the Huskies to play out his sophomore season in Storrs. The deadline to declare for the draft passed on Sunday.
After averaging 13 points with 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game, Bouknight was contemplating declaring for the draft. However, he's looking to actually increase that draft stock next season by getting those numbers up.
It was on April 1 that Bouknight answered this tweet from his teammate Isaiah Whaley that said he was signing with an agent, which of course would indicate he was leaving college ball. But he made sure to settle that...
Ain't goin anywhere just yet!! We got business to handle 😂😂😂😂 https://t.co/mujLTCRfsG- James Bouknight (@jam3s210) April 2, 2020
Many view Bouknight as a guard who could emerge as one of the best in the country next season. Gifted with insane bounce and a high IQ for the game, head coach Dan Hurley will love to see No. 2 back on the court.
