Need to Know: UConn got the job done, jumping out to a 25-5 lead, holding UDF to 5 of 21 shooting in the first half and advancing. It wasn't a vintage game for the Huskies by any means, as concentration lagged at times, but with four games in four games the task, UConn expended the energy it needed to. Daniel Hamilton led the way with 20 points while Rodney Purvis added13 points and Ryan Boatright 12. Phil Nolan gave a big lift off the bench with seven rebounds. UConn will now head to the quarterfinals to play Cincinnati on Friday night. Cincinnati had a bye on Thursday as the No. 3 seed. The Huskies were 11 of 17 from 3-point range. Omar Calhoun also chipped in with a nice game with nine points. USF shot 31.3 percent from the floor.
