Recee’ Caldwell, a 5-foot-8 junior guard from San Antonio, made an oral commitment to UCLA Friday morning.
“I visited schools all over the country,” Caldwell told Peachstatebasketball.com “But I knew in my heart I wanted to help a program get to a Final Four. We can do that (at UCLA) and I want to be a major factor.”
Caldwell averaged 17.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.1 assists as a sophomore at C.T. Johnson High. She was a member of the U-16 national team in 2011. That August she gave an oral commitment to Baylor but reopened the recruiting process three months later. She received a scholarship offer from UConn during an unofficial visit last month.
