Fans of UConn women's basketball will continue to be able to catch Huskies games on SNY.
SNY and FOX Sports have reached a new multi-year sublicensing agreement keeping UConn women's basketball on SNY, televising up to 18 regular season UConn women's basketball games per year, which will include exclusive pre- and post-game shows.
"We are thrilled to continue to serve UConn's passionate fans on SNY through this agreement with FOX Sports," said Steve Raab, President of SNY, in the official press release. "SNY could not be prouder of its partnership with Geno and the UConn Women's Basketball program. For eight seasons, SNY has provided unprecedented coverage of the University's women's basketball program, helping grow UConn's record-setting audience in the region and across the country."
The Huskies will be rejoining the Big East conference for the 2020-21 season.
The Conference is in the seventh year of its multi-year contract with FOX Sports, which has exclusive television rights to all Big East competitions.
"I am excited to hear that FOX and SNY have reached an agreement that will allow our fans to continue to watch UConn women's basketball on SNY," said UConn director of athletics David Benedict. "Our women's basketball team has set an unmatched standard of excellence over the years and so many people at SNY have worked extremely hard to deliver an outstanding product to our fans around the country. I know our fans will be thrilled that this special partnership will continue for years to come."
"This agreement is a strong complement to our existing Big East women's basketball coverage on FS1 and FS2 and is exciting news for UConn fans who have enjoyed Husky women's games on SNY for many years," added Big East Commissioner Val Ackerman.
