University of Connecticut forward Breanna Stewart was named the Big East Freshman of the Week Sunday for the second time this season.

Stewart averaged 24.0 points on 63.3 percent shooting and 10.0 rebounds in the Huskies's wins over Oakland (Mich). and Hartford. The North Syracuse, N.Y. native had a double-double (21 points and 13 rebounds) against Oakland Wednesday and followed that up with a season high 27 points at Hartford Saturday. Her 169 points is the most by a UConn freshman in her first 10 games.

Notre Dame All-American Skylar Diggins was the Big East Player of the Year. The senior guard was chosen as the Most Valuable Player of the World Vision Classic after leading the Irish to the tournament title by averaging 20.3 points, 4.3 assists and 2.7 steals per game in wins over Alabama A&M, Kansas State, and Texas A&M.

UConn junior All-American guard Bria Hartley earned a spot on the Big East honor roll after averaging 18.0 points, 5.0 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.0 steals in two games.
