Now Commenting On:

HARTFORD, Conn. -- It's been stellar first half between UConn and Louisville with the Huskies leading 34-28.

Shabazz Napier set the tone early for the Huskies with 10 quick points and Omar Calhoun broke out of his slump late with 10 points in the final 10 minutes including two 3-pointers.

The Huskies got seven points from DeeAndre Daniels including two thunderous dunks. The Huskies did lead 29-19 at one point as it is taking advantage of Peyton Siva's 2 early fouls.  Huskies are holding their own on the boards, 18-14, and have only seven turnovers.

The Huskies may be facing No.1 but show no fear or hesitation. The Huskies are playing the game at a frenetic pace. Can they keep up the shooting, currently 53.8 percent against one of the nations top defenses?

That's what the second half will decide.

Russ Smith is putting on a show for Louisville as his 15 points kept the Cardinals in the game.
