UConn redshirt sophomore Sidney Wilson has been suspended indefinitely from the men's basketball team, effective immediately, due to a violation of team rules.
Wilson has appeared in 21 games this season and is averaging 3.6 points and 2.1 rebounds per game in 12.3 minutes per game.
The 6-foot-7 forward from Bronx, NY played his senior season of high school basketball at Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, NH), helping the team go 33-0 and winning the National Prep Championship.
Wilson was a four-star recruit and rated as the No. 89 player in the class of 2017, according to 247Sports. He transferred to UConn after originally committing to St. John's.
