The UConn men's basketball team got their season started on the right foot with a 89-67 win over Sacred Heart, but things got off to a rocky start.
The Huskies had a slow start and led by just three at halftime, before turning up the intensity in the second half.
"Just played with more urgency," head coach Dan Hurley said after the game. "After the three seasons that we're coming off of here at UConn, we should never put ourselves in a mental position where we're complacent. I think our guys read too much into the score of the Providence-Sacred Heart game."
Josh Carlton led the way for the Huskies, finishing with 18 points and eight rebounds.
"Josh, he probably should have had 28 (points)," Hurley said. "He's a talented guy and he's a real force around the basket."
