UConn defeated Memphis, 68-56, in a tough road matchup on Tuesday, and while the Huskies played a strong game defensively, holding the Tigers to just 33.3 percent shooting, they struggled to move the ball on offense.
After the game, head coach Geno Auriemma was not pleased with his team's offensive effort.
"We started getting some stops down the other end," Auriemma said. "I think they scored (23 points) in the second half, so our defense was a lot better in the second half. Our offense was terrible the whole game but we made a couple of really big shots when we had to.
"I can't explain it, we just had no, absolutely zero any kind of continuity on offense, so we grinded it out. We got a win that the way we shot it and the way they were playing, it just as easily could have been a loss, so I'll take it and get out of here."
