Despite allowing a home run in the first inning, an unfazed Kodai Senga proceeded to retire 17 hitters in row in the Mets dominant 8-2 win over the Rockies. The offense provided him with plenty of support, beginning with Brett Baty's three-run triple in the bottom of the opening inning. Brandon Nimmo who left the game early with a calf cramp, stayed around long enough to belt a two-run HR and moments later watched Juan Soto go back-to-back with him as the Mets pulled away. Senga, ever the perfectionist, still feels he has things to work on but improving to 6-3 on the season with a 1.60 ERA doesn't get much better.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza liked everything about Kodai Senga's start on Saturday, as he got the Rockies to chase several pitches out of the strike zone with the "Ghost Fork." Offensively, he thought Brett Baty's big bases-clearing triple in the first inning set the tone for the rest of the game. Mendoza also touched on the Brandon Nimmo and Juan Soto home runs as a great sign that their bats are coming alive.

Brett Baty ripped a bases-loaded triple, Brandon Nimmo and Juan Soto launched back-to-back home runs and Kodai Senga delivered another outstanding performance on the mound as the Mets blitzed the Rockies 8-2.

Yankees starter Carlos Rodon pitched another gem, striking out eight batters over six innings for his fourth straight win as the Bombers swept a three-game series from Texas 1-0. In this Nets news conference, forward Mikal Bridges says the team is making a concerted effort to improve their play on the defensive end. Bridges: "Really detailed... just knowing our concepts... the coaches did a great job with that." Bridges has also been impressed with the younger players learning the schemes quickly, "because everybody wants to play... we know we really have to be locked in on the defensive end." As for some of the roster turnover Mikal joked, "it's crazy... but that's the league."

Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle called the Knicks an "unreal opponent" but in the end Indiana stealing Game 1 and grabbing the lead in the series proved to be an enormous swing. Tyrese Haliburton recalled their loss in the conference finals a year ago so the dedication to being back in the championship mix again makes this "a very special feeling." He emphasized there was much work to still be done with NBA's top team Oklahoma City laying in wait.
