Mets manager Carlos Mendoza says the team will continue to give David Peterson the ball despite another poor outing in New York's 9-2 loss to the Cardinals. Mendoza felt the two walks Peterson allowed were the culprits that led to the two home runs he served up. Francisco Alvarez who was the designated hitter and accounted for the Mets' only runs with a two-run HR, thought that while Peterson left a some pitches up in the zone, he didn't have much luck during his outing. Alvarez is relieved to be healthy again and ready to help the team turn things around.

For the second straight night, St. Louis broke out to a big lead and cruised to an 8-2 victory over the Mets. David Peterson was pounded for six runs and seven hits after Austin Warren  allowed two runs in the opening inning. Francisco Alvarez provided the only bright spot for the Mets with a two-run HR in his second game back after undergoing knee surgery.
