The Mets exploded for 13 runs against the Rockies, fueled by two home runs each from Jeff McNeil and Pete Alonso, and one apiece from Brett Baty and Francisco Alvarez, in a dominant win over Colorado.

The Mets finally had a "great night" offensively, according to manager Carlos Mendoza, but perhaps the most impressive display was Ronny Mauricio's 456-foot solo blast that landed in the third deck. Mendoza and Francisco Lindor couldn't recall ever seeing a player hit a HR up there, while Mauricio tried to "enjoy the moment." The rest of the lineup contributed some timely hits, including Brandon Nimmo and Luis Torrens. Starter Clay Holmes escaped several jams and gutted out six innings in the Mets' 8-1 win.

Ronny Mauricio, Jared Young, and Jeff McNeil each launched solo home runs and Clay Holmes pitched six solid innings as the Mets pulled away from the Rockies late to win 8-1.

Mets prospects Colin Houck, A.J. Ewing and Carson Benge all had multi-hit games on Saturday night to spark their teams' offense. Houck continues to show steady improvement at the plate, going 2-for-4 with an RBI for St. Lucie. High-A Brooklyn teammates Ewing and Benge combined for five hits, three RBI and two runs scored in a 6-3 win over Wilmington.

Prior to the series opener against Colorado, Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor told manager he would be available to pinch-hit, despite his broken toe. All he did was come through in a big way, lacing a double to right which scored the two go ahead runs in the 4-2 win. Pete Alonso, whose two-run double put the Mets ahead briefly in the seventh inning, expressed his admiration for Lindor's willingness to play through whatever ails him. Mets starter Kodai Senga, who allowed just one run said simply, "Lindor is a superstar."

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza knew he would get one shot at using Francisco Lindor late in the game and the strategy worked to perfection as Lindor lined a two-run double in the ninth inning providing the Mets with a 4-2 win. Kodai Senga, who started and had to grind through six innings and a career-high 109 pitches, continues to produce "ace-like" outings. Mendoza praised Brett Baty for his potential game-saving double play in the eighth with bases loaded and nobody out.

Francisco Lindor came off the bench in the ninth inning, broken toe and all, and delivered a two-run double as the Mets won a thriller from the Rockies. Pete Alonso was the other hitting star, also lining a two-run double in the seventh inning only to see Colorado come back to tie the game, setting the stage for Lindor's heroics.
