[sny-box]?I think the most disturbing aspect of it is ? in all my years of being around the team, they?ve had some bad losses...They?ve had some highs and lows, and some good teams and bad teams. But I don?t think I?ve ever seen a team just not show emotion as they were just getting pummeled ? I don?t advocate fighting, but show some emotion. Show that you care that your quarterback was sacked six times in the first quarter.?
They don?t like themselves. That?s what it really comes down to. They don?t like each other. They?re not willing to fight for each other. When you have a premier quarterback in this league, and you don?t have enough self-respect ? not for him, but for yourself ? to protect him to do your?job, I think it speaks volumes. I think these guys really do need to all stand in (front of) the mirror, and it?s gut-check time.?
From CBSRadio and the Giants:
CBS RADIO?s Sports Radio WFAN 660AM/101.9FM, the world?s first and nation?s most listened to all-sports radio station, has reached a new multi-year agreement with the New York Giants, extending the station?s exclusive flagship radio station rights to broadcast preseason, regular season and any postseason games.? In addition, WFAN will also continue to be home of the Giants in-depth pre and post-game coverage for all contests broadcast on the station.
On the overall perception of the draft:?"We feel good about the draft. I've always been a big believer that if you strengthen your offensive and defensive lines and create and have enough big people you have a chance to compete. We've got good players here, we supplemented with some youngsters that we really look forward to having them come in. We took the QB Nassib, who we were very high on, the grades were extremely high. He was the highest-ranked player when we took him, and then we added some guys at the bottom that are very, very interesting.
"Cooper Taylor, for example. A big safety who can run, is very smart who had a lot of statistics throughout his career. Eric Herman - a guy who'll fight ya, a battler who helped his team rush for 175 yards against Penn State."
From WFAN:
?Mike, I can?t even describe how it hurts,? Coughlin told Francesa in regard to missing the playoffs. ?I don?t know what to do. I?m walking around here like a crazy man. I don?t know what to do with myself. We shouldn?t be doing this right now. The pain of it is almost indescribable because your expectations are so high.?
Resse said....." I don't think we're that far away...we don't have to blow this thing up"
RB David Wilson could be the "lead dog" in the Giants' backfield
On the team...."Overall, it wasn't what we wanted but we have some things to look forward to. Some younger guys stepped up for us towards the end of the season. So we have some things to look forward to going into next year."
On the last game..."We wanted to finish this season off on a positive note, and I think we did that. That team you saw out there that last game, that's the team that we are....unfortunately, we couldn't be that team when it counted the most."
?Everyone has been affected. And our players have, because, remember, they have families, they have wives, they have children. They went through the same things that we all went through."

Giants' safety Antrel Rolle came down hard out-of-bounds on his shoulder/head in Sunday's game vs Dallas and is being monitored for a concussion.
With players such as Victor Cruz, Jason Pierre-Paul, Hakeem Nicks and Prince Amukamara Reese has rebuilt a team that hoisted the Lombardi Trophy just four short years ago. They are in position to do it again this Sunday.
Reese spoke with WFAN's Mike Francesa this week and is as humble as ever....
But Rolle wouldn?t go so far as to speculate on possibly getting another crack at Green Bay in the next round.
?I apologize, but I have to stop you right there,? he said. ?I?m not looking that far ahead. I?m just gonna be honest with you, our number one concern ? and our only concern at this point ? is the Atlanta Falcons.
"Will we make the playoffs? Without a doubt,? Rolle told Joe Beningo and Evan Roberts today. ?Without a doubt. We will be in that postseason. And we all know once you get in the postseason, that record is 0-0-0.?
He is sure the Giants will pick up their game after coming back to life against Green Bay Sunday.
Jacobs said booing is "what Giant fans do best." No, Brandon, booing is what they do when their team plays below its capabilities (like it did Sunday).
Boomer and Carton both gave Jacobs multiple opportunities to rescind or backtrack on his criticism of the fans, but he would not take the bait. Instead, he dug in...
"Were we prepared? Yes. Were we ready? No," said Rolle, who was as passionate as he's ever been on the radio spot where's he's been known to let it all hang out.
"We're too calm, man. We're too relaxed come Sunday...we're too poised," Rolle said. He was cognizant to be cautious enough not to knock his teammates too much...
Welcome to the NFL?s version of hockey?s neutral-zone trap: The San Francisco 49ers (7-1) rely on a power running game spelled by a short-pass attack, a rugged rushing defense and a very strong dose of special teams.
So exactly what are the Giants (6-2) getting themselves into when they head to Candlestick Park on Sunday?
Incidentally, JPP was fined $10k by the NFL for his hit to the head on Buffalo QB Ryan Fitzpatrick last week....
Sometimes you just can't hide the truth. ?The Giants simply played some dumb football in the red zone with the game on the line. Instead of taking the game back from Seattle, they pissed it away by throwing an ill-advised pass instead of just running the ball... From Bob Raissman of the Daily News:
(Bob) Papa, the Giants/WFAN Radio Network play-by-play man, scolded Manning for "forcing the ball into traffic." Banks, the Giants radio analyst, had every right to do what 98% of these analysts do - kiss their own tuchis before going into I-told-you-so mode.

Rams MLB and former Ohio State standout James Laurinaitis got the once-over from Boomer and Carton on Friday morning..
Morning hosts Craig Carton and Boomer continue to insist that New York is a Jet town.
Their logic? The Jets re-signed Santonio Holmes yesterday while the Giants simply went about their business.
Mara talked about the lockout's?resolution, what's in store for Giants fans, and some other?topics including his belief that the 18-game schedule debate, which the players?were against, will be revived at some point.
During the negotiations, Mara told?Dallas owner Jerry Jones that he'd wear a Cowboys jersey around Times Square if?Jones could get the players to approve an 18-game schedule.
Second chances. They are not guaranteed, so they need to be utilized whenever they arrive.
Giants coach Tom Coughlin and quarterback Eli Manning were right in trying to turn the page the day after last Sunday?s devastating collapse against Philadelphia. Sure, the Eagles made like an iceberg and busted a hole in the bottom of the Giants? ship, but this doesn?t mean it has to sink like the Titanic.
