Addison Reed to the Nationals? 00:01:47
The Loud Mouths debate the possibility of the Mets trading reliever Addison Reed to the Nationals.

The Nationals are looking for a closer and are interested in Mets reliever Addison Reed, sources recently told Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe.

However, according to Cafardo, the Mets are not likely to deal Reed - or anyone else - to D.C.

Ini 40 relief appearances for the Mets this season, during which he's filled in for Jeurys Familia at closer, Reed is 0-2 with 14 saves and a 2.59 ERA.

Mets Hot Stove: Addison Reed 00:01:22
Mets Hot Stove talks to Addison Reed about his preparation for Spring Training and the 2017 season.

Mets reliever Addison Reed will do whatever is asked of him by Terry Collins, including filling in at closer if Jeurys Familia is suspended for an incident of domestic violence from last year.

"I take the same mindset out there no matter what inning, I'm throwing,'' Reed told reporters at Tradition Field on Thursday. "The only thing different about the ninth inning is that it is one inning later than the eighth."

I don't see any reason to treat it differently," Reed continued. "If you are throwing the first inning you don't want any runs to score. If you are throwing the ninth inning, you don't want any runs to score."

Hoopsworld (several suggestions)

One of the more interesting prospects Boston College point guard Reggie Jackson. There was a chance he would return to the Screaming Eagles for his final season, but he's apparently received some assurance he'll be taken in the first round. New York could take him with the 17th overall selection to bolster its depth at point guard, but there might even be a lottery team willing to take a chance on Jackson before that. Like current Knicks point guard Toney Douglas, Jackson has an enormous wingspan (reportedly seven feet), which obviously is a tremendous defensive advantage in the NBA. But unlike Douglas, Jackson is a traditional point guard who quarterbacks an offense.
Tommy's Take

DraftExpress- Jimmer Fredette, PG 6'2 BYU- Tommy's Take There is simply no question that Jimmer is a pro, and will be a good one. But like most picks he has to find himself in the perfect situation in order to have immediate success. Take James Harden for example. Everyone loved him and it's taken him some time to be a major factor, like he is this playoffs. Jimmer would be very comfortable with Mike D'Antoni, but will the Knicks coach be here long term? Defense is obviously a huge question mark on a team that plenty of holes already on D although Steph Curry disagrees.

A lot has been talked about Reed, who the Knicks worked out last week. For more off court background info, click here (thanks Ridiculous Upside)...

Reed has caught the attention of Allan Houston, who I'm told is running this year's draft coverage for the team before reporting findings to Donnie Walsh.

Reed would fit a need up front. Looks like he has a John Wallace-type frame and length.
