Who is starting for the Yankees?
LHP J.A. Happ, who might very well be pitching for a spot in the postseason rotation. He took the loss in his last start, allowing five runs over just four innings, including two home runs. His only start against the Mariners this year came on May 9, when he allowed just one hit and three walks over five innings, while keeping Seattle off the board.
Who is starting for the Mariners?
RHP Matt Wisler, who will take the ball as the opener before likely handing it off to Tommy Milone... Wisler has made seven appearances as an opener this season and has held the opponent scoreless in all of them. Milone's last outing came on Aug. 20 when, following a scoreless inning from Wisler, he allowed four runs on six hits to the Rays.
The Yankees will continue their series against the Mariners Tuesday at 10:10 p.m., when Masahiro Tanaka (9-7, 4.68 ERA) matches up against Yusei Kikuchi (5-8, 5.19 ERA).
