Luis Severino has finished in the top 10 in American League Cy Young Award voting each of the last two seasons.
But heading into 2019, he might be worth a wager to take home the hardware.
Severino currently checks in at +900 (9/1) to win the Cy Young, according to sports book BetOnline.ag.
Ahead of the Yankees ace are Corey Kluber (5/2) and Chris Sale (3/1). A down second half in 2018 sunk Severino's chances of contending for the award, but he finished third in 2017 and recenlty signed a four-year, $40-million extension through his abritration years.
The 25-year-old Severino is coming off back-to-back All-Star seasons, during which he's posted a 3.18 ERA and a 33-14 record.
In the National League, three-time winner Max Scherzer leads the pack at 5/2, with defending champ Jacob deGrom on his heels at 7/2.
Blake Snell, the reigning AL winner; Justin Verlander, who finished second in 2018; and Carlos Carrasco currently all own 16/1 odds to win the award.
Other Yankees currently on the board are James Paxton (22/1), Masahiro Tanaka (28/1) and JA Happ (50/1).
