CC Sabathia seems to be hitting a bump in the road after an excellent start to his 2018 season.
The big lefty allowed the most runs he has all season thus far after the Rangers smacked him around to plate seven in his latest start.
The Yankees' offense gave Sabathia more than enough insurance as they plated four runs in the first three innings. But it was the fourth inning that opened up the floodgates for the Rangers.
Nomar Mazara hit his 11th homer of the season, a two-run shot to right center field to make it a two-run game. Then, it was rookie Ronald Guzman who put the Rangers up 5-4 with a three-run bomb.
The Yankees once again got the lead back with six runs in a huge fifth inning. But Sabathia allowed the Rangers to come back again with two more runs plated in the bottom of the innings. Isiah Kiner-Falefa tripled to score Shin-Soo Choo and Mazara hit an infield single to make it 10-7.
Sabathia came into the contest with a 2.40 ERA, but left with it inflated to 3.55. Over his last three starts, Sabathia has now allowed 13 earned runs, and has only made it through five innings at most in that span.
