Yankee closer LHP Aroldis Chapman inadvertently "liked" an Instagram post calling for the Yankees to cut ties with manager Joe Girardi and did not find out until a team PR staffer notified him, the New York Post reports.
Chapman apologized to his manager on Saturday, and Girardi was fine with it, according to the Post.
An Instagram user posted a comment under a picture of Girardi saying, "Let's hope Joe's contract is not renewed after the season. He's an imbecile." Chapman "liked" it, but later removed his like once he found out.
Girardi was under scrutiny for his questionable decisions in Game 2 of the ALDS, especially when he decided not to challenge a hit by pitch call that ultimately changed the course of the game.
Chapman threw two scoreless innings in the loss as he allowed only two hits while striking out two and walking one.
