Yankees OF prospect Clint Frazier had a barber cut his infamous red hair on Friday morning in the team's clubhouse.
The team has a policy that prohibits facial hair aside from mustaches and/or long hair.
The official policy states the following:
"All players, coaches and male executives are forbidden to display any facial hair other than mustaches (except for religious reasons), and scalp hair may not be grown below the collar."
"I like my hair, but I love playing for this organization," Frazier said, according to the NY Post. ""It was starting to be a distraction. It's time to look like everybody else around here."
Frazier added his hair is now the shortest it's been since he was in the seventh grade.
Mets 1B prospect Dominic Smith responded on Twitter:
The Yankees kept Frazier's hair that was cut and will donate it to an organization that makes wigs for children who have cancer.
